Strategies behind Irradiation
Polymers are in general limited sensitive to radiation. The more accurate the irradiation are the closer to polymer specification after the treatment. The higher the dose more changes in material properties are seen in some polymer materials.
- Light weight, low density SUBs and SUFs are high precision Electron Beam irradiated at 32 kGy.
- High density SUBs are either high precision Electron Beam irradiated at 40 kGy or low precision (±10 percent) Gamma irradiated.
