BactoVessel family in sizes from 0.5 to 30 litre Vessel Volume

BactoVessel series of Single-Use-Fermenter's (SUF) for microbial applications are unique as they are fully configurable in a scalable platform. Here are some of the many size and drive options:

  • OD82 and OD110 mm size for DasGip® bioBlock with Head-Plate-Drive (HPD) and RE30 or RE40 motors
  • OD137 mm size (also with baffels) for bottom drive on Magnetic-Stirrer-Table (MST) (max 1,000 rpm)
  • OD150, OD200, OD250 mm size without baffels with Magnetic-Bottom-Drive (MBD) on Magnetic-Stirrer-Table (MST) (max 750 rpm and/or 200 watt)
  • OD137, OD150, OD200, OD250 (also with baffels) available with Head-Plate-Drive (HPD) and Single-Use-Jacket (SUJ) (max 1,500 rpm and/or 200 watt)
  • OD137, OD150, OD200, OD250 comes with HPD when combined with Re-Usable-Jacket (RUJ) (max 1,500 rpm and/or 200 watt)

Basic specifications for BactoVessel are:

  • Rigid polymeric materials (no plastic foil!) - check out under /support/documentation/
  • Number of standard PG13.5 ports according to the SUF diameter - check under /support/bactovessel-details/bactovessel-design/
  • 6 different diameters and 5 different height – check out sizes under Commerce
  • Turbine(s) for clockwise rotation / up-flow combined axial / radial fluid circulation
  • The SUF bearings (HPD) designed to accept +1,500 rpm for one week operation
  • Baffled vessel for combined axial vortex mixing and donut shape flow pattern
  • Designed for Newtonian fluids with max viscosity of 50,000 cP (similar to your preferred semi stiff, cold good morning yogurt)
  • Suggested max operating pressure 50 mBar - though burst pressure much higher

Fully configurable BactoVessel created by selecting various optional components:

  • Several cooling options such as integrated or external heat exchangers can be found under Accessories/Thermal-Systems and Support
  • Various aeration methods such as; ring hole spargers, L-spargers, head space gas exchange
  • Several different fluid In&Out methods and exhaust methods
  • A range of sensors, Single-Use-Sensor (SUS), liquid level / foam sensors
  • Optionally operating pressure up to 250 mBar for OD137
  • Optionally operating pressure up to 500 mBar requires a cover cage in combination with RUJ

General comments:

  • The product is designed for single-use only and will be damaged during treatment with >80% ethanol solution or temperature above 80°C
  • Newer rotate impeller system without liquid in SUF
  • Delivered high precision E-beam (32 kGy) irradiated in dual polyester foil bags
  • All components in media contact are ISO10993, FDA approved or USP class VI certified materials.
